At todays meeting our master of Programs Dave Garrison presented us with Officer Orsini and Officer Martinez from the San Fernando Police Department. They gave us a report on the state of crime fighting here in town. For those of you not attending our meetings on a regular basis, the food is being catered by Dora, who is doing a great job. Saying Goodbye to a good friend
As many of you know, Max Ororio passed away the weekend of the 4th of February. He had been in the hospital for over a week, suffering from pneumonia and other complications from his fight with cancer. In a much appreciated gesture, his family made calls to almost the entire club inviting them to come by and visit him at Holy Cross Hospital, knowing that his time with us was limited. Many of our members and those of other clubs came by to see him. Were all sad to see Max go. His contribution to our club and to our community will be remembered for years to come. Our December 20th meeting was a little Christmas Gift Exchange on the eve of Hanukkah. Here at Kiwanis we like to mash up all the Winter religious celebrations into one lunchtime party, and today was no different. December 13 Meeting
Just a report on the goings on at our weekly club meeting. Another good turnout from our members. Bob Borquez was there with bags of free Christmas Cookies! He reported that the Folks at Fantasy Cookie in Sylmar donated 6 cases of cookies for our Caroling Project coming up this Thursday the 15th.
